Kate Winslet & Josh Brolin

About time! I've been waiting patiently for this film. One of our favorite filmmakers, Jason Reitman, is back with his latest feature titled Labor Day, starring Gattlin Griffith as Henry, a boy from New Hampshire who learns life lessons over a five-day Labor Day weekend. Reitman, who was born in Canada, has almost always premiered his films at the Toronto Film Festival (except for Young Adult) and it was just announced that Labor Day will be premiering there this fall. To go along with the news, our very first look at the drama featuring Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin (along with Griffith in the background) has arrived. See below.

Here's the first Labor Day photo direct from the Toronto Film Festival, originally found by The Film Stage:

Labor Day First Look

Depressed single mom Adele (Winslet) and her son Henry (Griffith) offer a wounded, fearsome man a ride. As police search town for the escaped convict, the mother and son gradually learn his true story as their options become increasingly limited. The cast includes Brolin, Tobey Maguire, Clark Gregg, James Van Der Beek and Brooke Smith. Labor Day is written & directed by Jason Reitman (of the films Thank You For Smoking, Juno, Up in the Air and Young Adult previously), adapted from the book by Joyce Maynard. Paramount will be releasing the film in limited theaters around Christmas Day in December later this year after its TIFF premiere in September. Stay tuned for reviews and hopefully a trailer soon. I'll be seeing this.

I have enjoyed all of *Jason Reitman's work except for YOUNG ADULT. Which I found too flat, static. I am looking forward to LABOR DAY.

Jason Reitman is the director though, not Ivan.

Dear Mr Billington I , too, look forward to this release. Actually I worked on it. I was the Still Photographer. Alex, It is an industry courtesy and common practice that when an image is used for publication the Still Photographer is given photo credit. I have actually gotten work because of it. I had the blessing of shooting Jason Reitman's film 'Up in the Air' and because of the big Academy Awards push by Paramount my snap shots were every where. Dreamworks saw my images and photo credit and had me shoot their film 'The Help'. So you can see how important photo credit is to we freelancers. Imagine your article with NO Byline. If you can ... Please correct this. dale robinette still photographer
