April Barnett appears as "Tamika White" in the mockumentary film "Closing Escrow" opposite Cedric Yarbrough and Wendi McLendon-Covey of the hit television series "Reno 911." Closing Escrow is now available on DVD.

She also had a featured role as the 'Shakespearean Actress' in the film "Sex Sells: The Making of Touche" another mockumentary starring Priscilla Barnes, Marc DeCarlo and Adrian Zmed about the porn industry.

She was cast as Georgia Hayes in the play "The Exonerated" starring Jeff Goldblum. April's performance as Lady Anne in the Court Theater production of Richard III opposite famed actor and director Charles S. Dutton, received favorable reviews.

She also starred as "Tobi" in the well received film "Drylongso" which was featured in the American Spectrum category at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival. It also won the Grand Prize at the Pan African Film Festival. She was in the leading role as the crack-addicted prostitute in the avant-garde film "Flight" which was the only American film accepted in its category at the 1998 Cannes International Film Festival.

April has also submitted to the film festival circuit a short film which she wrote and directed called "Pete." She is currently in rehearsals for a play which she wrote called "Happy Accidents" which will premiere at Playhouse West School and Repertory Theater.

April feels blessed to have had the various life experiences which have allowed her to bring forth a fresh realism to the characters she plays. She hopes to continue to do work well enough to earn the respect of her peers and make her family proud.
