Billy's score for the new Lionsgate logo (released with The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) earned him an International Mobius Award and a HMMA Award nomination. One of his unique qualities as a composer is that he is also a sound designer, and frequently uses sound musically within his scores. He enjoys producing a wide range of musical styles and has scored numerous genres of film including dramatic, thriller, comedy and documentary.

Billy started playing piano at five and began composing when he was twelve, which began with re-writing the ending of an existing song that he didn't love. By twenty-four he was composing and arranging for full orchestras. Since then he has continued to work with large and small ensembles around the country. He has also recorded and toured with numerous bands including Vas (Azam Ali and Greg Ellis), The Hollowbodies (led by the multi-talented Phillip Roebuck) and Southpaw (with writer/director Dito Montiel).

He began his career scoring commercials for such accounts as Levis, Nike, BMW, Sony and Pepsi, which brought him CLIO and MOMA awards. Many years of scoring commercials has led him to work with directors David Fincher, Zack Snyder, Michael Bay, David LaChapelle and Janusz Kaminski.

The Earth Communications Office (ECO) chose Billy to score Hidden City (2003) (narrated by Gene Hackman and Hector Elizondo) which was released in theaters and on television worldwide. It was an honor for him to be selected as composer following ECO's critically acclaimed production "The Power of One", composed by Hans Zimmer.

Besides scoring the Lionsgate logo he has also scored logos for Rogue Pictures, Tonic Films, XBOX Sports and Essential Pictures.

Billy's wide range of experience in music production and scoring has earned him invitations to speak on panels at UCLA and his alma mater Syracuse University.
