Received his Bachelor of Arts degree in theater from Rollins College. Apprenticed at New York Stage & Film's Powerhouse Theater at Vassar, and at Actors Theater of Louisville, where he began to write and direct plays professionally. "Ships...and other Vessels" won the Young Playwrights Festival. Original member of the award wining Off Broadway Company, Zena Group. Has worked for Castle Rock Entertainment, Warner Bros., ABC Television. AMC and Showtime Networks. He holds a Master's Degree in Film Direction from The American Film Institute (AFI)'s Center for Advanced Film & Television Studies. His thesis film "Love, Fear...and the 14th St. Chicken" and subsequent short films have played in competition and garnered awards at festivals all over the world.

He served for 5 years as Special Guest Director for the Florida Film Festival, has been on the film and theater faculties of Rollins College and the University of Central Florida School of Visual Art and Design, and is a Professor at Savannah College of Art and Design's Film and Television Program.
