Yee is one of the most renowned production designers and art directors in Hong Kong. He won the award of Best Costume & Make Up Design for The Twins Effect at the 23rd Hong Kong Film Awards.

He co-worked with Ken Mak for” Golden Chicken 2” in 2003, and both of them were nominated for Best Art Direction award. His art-directing work in “Savior of the Soul”, “The Twins Effect”, “Elixir of Love” and “Perhaps Love” was all highly acclaimed. He also participated in the first aromatic movie in Hong Kong, “Lavender”.

In 1998, he had his directorial debut for “Anna Magdalena”. Recently, he got a nomination of Best Costume Designer Award in Oscar for “Curse of the Golden Flower”, and he is therefore internationally recognized in cinema arena.
