At 11 a.m. on March 20th, 1991, her four year-old son Conor fell to his death from a 53rd-story window of a New York City high-rise. The tragedy was the inspiration for Eric Clapton's award-winning song, "Tears in Heaven".

Two sons: Devin (b.1992, with producer Silvio Sardi) and Loren (b.1999).

Her companion is Rocco Pietrantonio, who is 24 years her junior.
