Marije Meerman

Marije Meerman (Amsterdam, The Netherlands 1967) made her debut as a director with the documentary "The Creche: Live & Work in the Spirit of Lenin" on the anti-authoritarian kindergarten that she attended in Amsterdam at the end of the sixties. At the kindergarten she was raised according to the ideas of Marx, Lenin and Reich. Most of her films explore on the question how the needs and longings of the individual collide with systems of ideology and religion.
