Jerome Young was an American professional wrestler, better known by his ring name New Jack. He was best known for his time with Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), where he became notorious for his willingness to take dangerous bumps and his stiff hardcore wrestling style, often taking high risks and four times shooting on opponents, including in the 1996 Mass Transit incident.
Young's wrestling injuries took a toll on his health. In 2016, he collapsed while walking home from a wrestling event, and doctors found blood clots throughout his legs and back. On May 14, 2021, his wife told PWInsider that he died at the age of 58 after a heart attack that afternoon at their home in Greensboro, North Carolina.
