The film stars Koji Yakusho as a 60-year-old lumberjack named Katsu who lives in a small mountain village. When a film crew arrives in town to shoot a zombie movie, Katsu somehow manages to get stuck helping with the production and has to deal with the film’s rookie director, an ineffective, wishy-washy sort named Koichi (Shun Oguri) who’s completely buckling under the pressure. Katsu and Koichi strike up an unlikely friendship, with Katsu learning to love movies through witnessing the filmmaking process and Koichi gaining self-confidence through his interactions with Katsu.
