The Hostage Wife Trilogy

Emily has only ever known what her husband's family has allowed her to...beginning with when she was "rescued" by her mother-in-law, Ms. Patricia. Having been found alone in the wilderness at the age of two, Emily has called the wilderness of Cooper's Falls, Ontario, home for over a decade now. Even though she has only been subjected to the occasional hunting trip with "Master" David, and the annual "young wives exhibit" aboard Prince Vanderbausch's yacht; Emily sees the beauty that life beyond could offer. However, she can not find the strength and courage to pursue it alone. That is until she discovers her "entrepreneur" husband's true business endeavors in a basement she was previously unaware of. Held within is not just current turmoil in the form of a nine-year-old hostage, but also years of secrets and many trails of previous victims. After being exposed to the truth and recently losing her one trusty friend, Rusty the wolf, she decides to make a break for it when an opportunity arises and she sees a family about half a mile downriver. Throughout her journey, she must overcome the dangerous slopes of the rocky terrain, a mountain lion, and her husband's tracking techniques. All the while, her past returns to her through traumatic flashbacks. An injured Rusty returns to her as well, to face-off against the ferocious cat during the stormy night. Once she finds the town, she is escorted to the police where she meets Detective Warner, who has been working with Detective Ryan for years to solve the cases of missing women and children at the border.
