A despondent, alcoholic, former writer for the Miami Herald finds himself facedown in a bar in South Beach. A news flash featuring his hometown of Indian Camp Mountain, N.C. catches his eye. Apparently, bigfoot sightings are rampant in the area. In a moment of clarity, he decides to head home to report the story in an effort to reconnect with his roots, resurrect his career, and repair the relationship with his estranged sheriff-father. What he doesn't know is that his friends have concocted a story to help this former award-winning reporter reestablish his career.
