Trish Johnson grew up in the Watts section of Los Angeles and in very humble surroundings. Although Trish began studying acting and performing on stage at a very young age, Trish's mom stressed the importance of education more than anything else. Trish began her acting career with a co-starring role in the "ABC Afterschool Special: The Brad Silverman Story," which was nominated for an Emmy Award and which won a Humanitas Award. Trish had the honor of being directed by the late Joanna Lee, and appearing opposite Shelley Berman and Marion Ross. Trish studied in Oxford, England with the British American Drama Academy/Yale School of Drama where she studied Shakespeare and Chekhov. In Los Angeles, Trish has performed in many equity waiver plays, including the lead role in the NAACP nominated play "Passing" and was also directed by film director Bruce Malmuth in his original play "Thanksgiving Cries" at the Odyssey Theater in Los Angeles. Trish was directed by film director Spike Lee in a national Nike commercial featuring NBA basketball player Tim Hardaway. Trish has also lived in New York where she auditioned for film, TV, and theater, and studied acting with Wynn Handman, who also taught Denzel Washington, Richard Gere, and Michael Douglas. While in New York, she played the role of Hippolyta in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Sanford Meisner Theater. Trish is developing her original screenplay which is set around the New Orleans Jazz scene in which she will play the lead role. Trish is a graduate of UCLA and UCLA School of Law.
