Ben Affleck

Benjamin Géza Affleck é um ator e cineasta americano. Entre seus prêmios, estão dois Oscars, dois Prêmios BAFTA e três Globos de Ouro. Affleck iniciou a carreira ainda criança, ao estrelar a série educacional da PBS The Voyage of the Mimi (1984–1988). Mais tarde, atuou na comédia independente Dazed and Confused (1993) e em várias comédias de Kevin Smith, incluindo Chasing Amy (1997).

Affleck ganhou reconhecimento mais amplo quando ele e Matt Damon venceram o Oscar de Melhor Roteiro Original por Good Will Hunting (1997), filme no qual também atuaram. Ele se consolidou como protagonista em produções de estúdio, como o filme-catástrofe Armageddon (1998), o thriller policial Reindeer Games (2000), o drama de guerra Pearl Harbor (2001) e o suspense The Sum of All Fears (2002). Após um período de declínio na carreira, Affleck retomou o prestígio ao interpretar George Reeves no filme biográfico Hollywoodland (2006), vencendo a Coppa Volpi de Melhor Ator.

Sua estreia na direção ocorreu com Gone Baby Gone (2007), que também coescreveu e foi bem recebida pela crítica. Em seguida, dirigiu e estrelou o drama policial The Town (2010) e o thriller político Argo (2012), ambos sucessos de crítica e bilheteria. Pelo último, Affleck venceu o Prêmio BAFTA de Melhor Direção, além do Prêmio BAFTA de Melhor Filme e do Oscar de Melhor Filme. Posteriormente, estrelou o thriller psicológico Gone Girl (2014) e interpretou o super-herói Batman no DC Extended Universe (2016–2023). Também atuou em The Accountant (2016) e no drama esportivo The Way Back (2020). Teve papéis coadjuvantes nos dramas The Last Duel (2021), The Tender Bar (2021) e Air (2023), sendo este último também dirigido por ele.

Affleck é cofundador da Eastern Congo Initiative, uma organização sem fins lucrativos voltada à concessão de subsídios e à defesa de causas sociais. Ele é apoiador do Partido Democrata. Affleck e Damon são coproprietários da produtora Artists Equity e também foram coproprietários da Pearl Street Films.
