Myra Stanhope Wilborne (Pauline Frederick) is compromised in the eyes of her husband Cyril Wilborne (William Courtenay) by a man, Norman Pollock (Lowell Sherman), claiming to having an affair with her and offering a letter as proof. They are divorced and her husband is granted custody of their young son. Her innocence is finally proven, but not before she is forced into social exile in England where she becomes a notorious woman.
